Payment of Coaches
ECB have warned that clubs in Staffordshire paying
players and coaches have been heavily fined by Revenue and Customs for
failing to ensure that appropriate tax and National Insurance payments
were made; it must be expected that Inspectors of Taxes in other
counties will become interested.
The question of
whether those being paid are employees or self-employed can be a
complex one, and clubs are advised to seek professional advice if in
any doubt
