IOG Courses for Groundsmen

The Institute of Groundmanship's programme of courses for 2012 includes the following:

Foundation (Level 1), Part A - Spring Preparation and Summer Maintenance - at Hursley Park CC on Tuesday 17 April, 0900 – 16.30. Course fee £90 for IOG members, £180 for non-members.

Foundation (Level 1), Part B - Autumn Renovation and Winter Maintenance - at Hursley Park CC on Tuesday 11 September, 09.00 – 16.30. Course fee £90 for IOG members, £180 for non-members.

The Hampshire Cricket Board will once again assist with course fees for members of clubs affiliated to the Board. HCB will refund £90 for each part, and suggest that those attending the course should join IOG for an annual subscription of £47. There are benefits in addition to the considerable saving in course fees, not least in membership of the Winchester Branch of IOG, which is currently the Hampshire Cricket Board Groundsmen’s Association.

Scorers

"The Hampshire Association of Cricket Officials (HACO) will be running 2 seperate one day ECBACO Level 1 Scorers Course's as follows:

Saturday 11th February 2012

Saturday 24th March 2012

Both courses will be run at The Hampshire Rosebowl and will commence at 0900 and be complete by 1700. There will be an Exam which if successfully passed will attain the award of an ECBACO Level 1 Scorer Certificate.

The cost of the course is 60 pounds and is excellent value as the

course materials include:

Scorer’s bag.

Your participant folder and course materials and all tutoring.

MCC Laws of Cricket (2000 Code 4th edition – 2010) (currently 3 pounds).

ECB directives and an ECB ACO best practice guide.

Copy of Tom Smith book (currently 18.99 pounds).

One years FREE Membership of ECBACO (currently 32 pounds or 30 pounds if by DD).

A FREE CRB check (currently 45 pounds).

If you are already a member of ECBACO and have Law Books then there will be a cost reduction.

HAMPSHIRE ASSOCIATION OF CRICKET OFFICIALS (HACO) – ECBACO LEVEL 1 CRICKET UMPIRE TRAINING COURSES 2012

Confirmation of the ECBACO Level 1 Cricket Umpires Course’s that HACO will be running in the spring of 2012 is now complete. A variety of venues are available. Additionally the course can be completed by weekly evening classes or over a 2 day weekend period or a 3 day midweek period.

Successful completion of the course and passing of the final examination will enable the candidate to be awarded a Level 1 Cricket Umpire’s certificate from ECBACO.

The cost of each course is 90 pounds BUT this includes; all the Course Paperwork, a FREE Tom Smith's, a FREE MCC Blue Law Book, a FREE One year membership (till end of Dec 2012) of ECBACO and of course a FREE CRB check – so is excellent value.

Details of the available courses are as follows:

The Hampshire RoseBowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH - Commence on Thu 12th Jan 2012 and then the next 5 Thursdays (19th Jan, 26th Jan, 2nd Feb, 9th Feb, and 16th Feb). A revision week on evening (date tbc) and then the Exam on Thu 1st Mar. Timings each eve = 1930 - 2130.

Old Basing CC, Old Basing Recreation Ground, The Street, Old Basing, RG24 7DA - Commence on Wed 18th Jan 2012 and then the next 5 Wednesdays (25th Jan, 1st Feb, 8th Feb, 15th Feb, and 22nd Feb). A revision evening on Wed 29th Feb and then the Exam on Wed 7th Mar. Timings each eve = 1930 - 2130.

Langley Manor CC, Knellers Lane, Langley Manor, The New Forest, Southampton, SO40 7EB - Commence on Wed 25th Jan 2012 and then the next 5 Wednesdays (1st Feb, 8th Feb, 15th Feb, 22nd Feb and 29th Feb). A revision evening on Wed 7th Mar and then the Exam on Wed 14th Mar. Timings each eve = 1930 - 2130.

Royal Navy CC (HMS Temeraire), Burnaby Road, Portsmouth, PO1 2EJ - Mon, Tue, Wed 6th, 7th and 8th Mar 2012. Exam on Wed 8th Mar. Timings 0830 - 1700 each day.

The Hampshire RoseBowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH - Sun 12th Feb and Sun 19th Feb 2012. Exam on Sun 19th Feb. Timings 0830 - 1700 each day.
